The Ripon Police Department reported the arrest of two suspects who were involved earlier this week in a retail theft.

The incident occurred Monday at about 9:41 p.m. at Save Mart, 1453 Goodwin Dr., with officers responding to a report of a male suspect stealing alcohol along with other items.

“The reporting party provided a detailed description of the suspect and the vehicle he fled, which was occupied by another individual,” local police said via social media on Wednesday.

Officers were quick to locate the suspect and a female passenger sitting inside the vehicle at a nearby gas station.

It was inside the vehicle that police discovered the stolen items coupled with other suspected stolen goods.

They arrested the male suspect – he was booked into San Joaquin County Jail – while the female suspect was cited and released.
