Lodi Comic Con returns Sunday for its seventh year at the Lodi Grape Festival Grounds.
This one-day pop culture convention presented by Utility Telecom will run from 11 a.m. through 5 p.m.
Among the special guest creators will be Ramon Villalobos, who is a 2005 graduate of Manteca High. His work can be found in the MHS Mural Museum. In 2014, Villalobos saw his dream come true of becoming a comic book artist – he was hired by Marvel Comics to do “What If? Age of Ultron.”
According to organizer Mike Millerick, Lodi Comic Con will feature more 200 booths and artists, making it “our biggest event ever,” he said.
Villalobos will be joined alongside fellow guest creators Dan Parsons (Star Wars), Mel Smith (Dead Ahead), and Michael Calero (Earth-Prime Batwoman), to name a few.
The special guests list includes an “Avatar, the Last Airbender” reunion featuring stars of the hit animated series – namely, Greg Baldwin (Uncle Iroh), Jessie Flower (Toph Beifong), Jennie Kwan (Suki) and Olivia Hack (Ty Lee).
Orange Cassidy (All Elite Wrestling), Athena (FKA Ember Moon WWE), Daniel Logan (Star Wars Young Boba Fett), Austin St. John (Original Red Power Ranger), Dawn M. Bennett (My Hero Academia), Leila Berzins (Genshin Impact), and Chris Bartlett (The Mandalorian) are also among the special guests.
Ticket prices for the one-day event are $10 at the gate and $5 via pre-sale by logging on to http://lodicomiccon.com/tickets.
Children age 12 and under will be admitted free with a paid adult.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army of Lodi.
In addition, free comic books for fans will be available at the event along with roses for moms for Mother’s Day.
