This was the youth-led group of middle grade students from the Manteca Unified campus recently offered up a generous donation to the San Joaquin County National Alliance of Mental Health.

Last Friday, Club Live delivered a check for $665.32 to the local National Alliance of Mental Illness, which will use the donation to help students in the community.

During the school year, Club Live met once a week on campus.

“Club Live is a leadership club dedicated to making positive changes in their schools and communities while promoting student confidence and leadership skills,” said advisor Marisela Fernandez.

Club Live – officers consisted of Joselyn Cooper (president), Cristian Milla (vice president), Adam Khan (secretary), and Morgan Tienda (treasurer), with a total of 17 seventh- and eighth- grade students – hosted school and community projects such as Red Ribbon Week, Mental Health Awareness and promoting substance abuse prevention and school climate projects.

This past February, Club Live members raised money via Candy Gram.

“The fundraiser was held to help promote positivity and mental health awareness by sharing kindness and uplifting messages to peers,” Fernandez added.
