The City of Lathrop has made available the Draft Active Transportation Plan.
This project is aiming to become the next stage of the city’s commitment to supporting active transportation modes with the development of this Active Transportation Plan.
The City of Lathrop is seeking to cater to the diverse transportation needs of residents, workers, visitors, etc. by providing a mobility network that will allow for people of all ages and abilities to get to and from their destinations “safely, efficiently, and, as often possible, without the use of single occupancy vehicles,” the city said.
Active transportation is defined, in this case, as biking, walking, and non-motorized mobility options for folks to use upon their arrival to their destinations – parks, schools, grocery stores, work, etc., for example.
The ATP is being used to identify opportunities to improve walking, bicycling, and helping the city to address regional goals to reduce vehicle miles and greenhouse gas emissions in an effort for healthier air quality in Lathrop.
The Draft ATP is available for public review and copying on weekdays (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at these locations:
· Lathrop City Hall, 390 Towne Centre Dr.
· Generations Center, 450 Spartan Way.
· Lathrop Community Center, 15557 5th St.
