Learn to skateboard with confidence.
The City of Lathrop Parks and Recreation Department is once again offering Tuesday classes in this exhilarating sport featuring kickflips and ollies, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
KSB Skate Dojo will be providing instructions on the basics and fundamentals of skateboarding to those ages 5 through 17.
The first class will be held next week (Oct. 8) at the Generations Skate Park, 450 Spartan Wy.
Parents and guardians are reminded to provide their youngster with a skateboard, helmet, and safety pads – all required for these sessions.
Cost is $75 for the four-week session which concludes on Oct. 29.

Kat’s Paint Parties
The instructor, Kat, will guide those interested in creating their own fall masterpieces using canvas, paint, and brushes.
“(Kat) will walk you through creating a cute ghost in time for the Halloween Season,” said the City of Lathrop via social media.
Classes are open to those ages 15 and up (children under 15 must be accompanied by a registered adult) and will be held Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Lathrop Generations Center, 450 Spartan Wy, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Pre-registration is required and must be done by Wednesday, Oct. 8.

Teen Halloween Party
A ‘Spook-tacular’ time is planned for Friday, Oct. 18, at Lathrop Generations Center.
“Dress to impress and be prepared to ‘boo-gie’ to the beats of a live DJ on the dance floor,” said the City of Lathrop on social media. “You won’t want to miss the costume contest.”
The Teen Halloween Party at the LGC Grind will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and is sponsored by the Youth Advisory Commission.
This Halloween Party is open to students in grades 7-12, and will also include food and games.
Cost for pre-registration is $10 or $15 at the door (space is limited).

Bolly X
Bolly X is a fun, Bollywood-inspired fitness dance class held Thursdays at the Lathrop Senior Center, 15707 5th St., from 7 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
Bolly X with Summy combines choreography with an intense workout to upbeat music from around the world.
Cost for the cardio fitness classes is $70 per month to those ages 18 and older.
A Bollywood Beats & Beyond is offered Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. for ages 5-17 at the Lathrop Senior Center.
Cost for the Beats & Beyond class is $70 per month.
