Lathrop offer 8 options to assist struggling households with food

There are several nonperishable foods recommended to keep on hand for emergencies.

The City of Lathrop’s Parks & Recreation Department announced several options for those in need of food.

As part of the San Joaquin County-wide food distribution, residents – or anyone in need of nourishment but without the financial means – can use the following resources:

• Lathrop Senior Center Distributions, 15707 5th St. – Silver Harvest (60 years and up), second and fourth Tuesday of each month, 9 to 11 a.m.; HSA Commodities, third Thursday, 9 to 11 a.m.; Love Church, third Tuesday, 9 to 11 a.m.

• Farmers Markets – Lathrop Elementary Mobile Farmers Market, 15851 5th St., third Thursday of the month, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.; Walnut Capk Mobile Farmers Market, 850 J St., second Thursday, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

• Food Pantries – Our Lady of Guadalupe Food Pantry, 16200 Cambridge Dr.; Pray Valley Food Pantry, 14172 Avon Ave.; Lathrop High School Food Pantry (LHS students), 647 Spartan Way.
