The Lathrop High Centre Stage Theatre will be performing “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon” this weekend.
The fall production are fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, turned on their heads and catapulted online in this fast-paced, rollicking ride, according to director Hillary Pangburn.
She noted that two narrators along with several actors will attempt to combine all 209 stories, ranging from classics like Snow White, Cinderella, and Hansel and Gretel, to more bizarre, obscure stories like Faithful Johannes. A wild, free-form comedy with lots of madcap fun.
Added stage manager Cinder Ibarra: “Theater is certainly an effort of the ensemble as a whole, and I’m proud of everyone that had put in the time and effort to be a part of this production.
“This year's first show was an extreme leap of faith, due to the technical difficulties regarding our stage lighting, but we improvised and adapted to the situation, and we've ended up creating something beautiful – our actors, crew, tech, and directors are amazing and (mostly) hilarious people, and we've all put together a knee-slapper of a show.
The opening night is Friday, beginning at 7 o’clock.
Performances for “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon” will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Tickets are $12, available online at https://our.show/cstbrosgrimm.
