Lathrop High was recently recognized as a 2025 Model School.

Shortly before spring break, the Manteca Unified high school site received a banner from the Center for Model Schools – a national program that honors forward-thinking schools – which was displayed this week by Principal Melissa Beattie and her Leadership team for their efforts in making LHS among “a competitive group of schools nationwide.”

She was proud of the team Wednesday that also consisted of her administrators – namely, Assistant Principal Denna Crowe, Vice Principal Heather Anderson, and Vice Principal Chuck Selna.

“This is a huge accomplishment,” said Beattie, who is gearing up her team for the Model Schools Conference in Washington DC, from June 22-25.

They’ll present “From Vision to Action: Building Aligned Systems to Support Learning” at the 33rd annual event at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center.

This year’s conference will showcase LHS and other Model Schools along with innovative districts, and aspiring models and educators.

All told, over 5,000 educators will have a chance to learn and share insights on how Spartan Nation was achieved.
