Each month, Prayer Valley Family Worship Church will feed up to 200 families.
The place of worship located at 14172 Avon Ave. in Lathrop will do so via its Love Reaches Out Food Bank.
Some of the funding for this program will come from the proceeds made possible from the TNT Fireworks booth in the Target Store parking lot in the 16000 block of Golden Valley Parkway in Lathrop.
“We’ve been (at this location) for the past three years,” said Thomas Ford, who worked the fireworks booth alongside Jennifer Taylor and Audra Stevens Wednesday afternoon in the sweltering heat.
In order to cool down, they’re relying on the use of the two portable water coolers amid the triple-digit temperatures.
Lathrop has several fireworks booths that will be in operation throughout the Fourth of July, including 200 E. Louise Ave., 16210 S. Harlan Rd., 16837 S. Harlan Rd., and 15240 S. Harlan Rd. (all are TNT Fireworks, according to listing).
“Sales have been really good,” said Taylor, who is expecting the Love Reaches Food Bank booth to be even busier today (Thursday), scheduled from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Stevens indicated that several big Backyard Celebration packages were sold during these past few days, including TNT’s The Big Bang.
