The City of Lathrop Police Department has a dedicated Traffic Unit consisting of one sergeant and two officers.

More changes are ahead.

In an effort focused on making Lathrop’s roads safe, the Traffic Unit will soon be getting motorcycles “for better traffic enforcement,” police announced Thursday via social media.

The local police department debuted in June 2022, and continues to grow while providing the community with the attributes that reflects Lathrop’s values.

This includes:

• Police representatives interacting with and being involved in the community.

• Being kept informed on local issues of concern.

• Having a visible police presence at all hours of the day.

• Officers being respectful, friendly, and approachable.

• Understanding and recognizing the diversity within the community.

• Officers who listen to the community.

• Police who are transparent and accountable for their actions.
