Two new firefighters / paramedics recently joined the Ripon Consolidated Fire District.
Jason Hill and Andrew McDonald will bring Station 1 to full staffing while ensuring that the ambulance services are fully crewed at all times, according to RCFD via social media on Tuesday.
“Both Hill and McDonald are currently engaged in our comprehensive orientation program.
“This program covers all aspects of the County and District operations, including policies, procedures, equipment, and performance standards – upon completion of orientation, they will be assigned to a shift and begin responding to emergency calls,” RCFD added.
Hill is a product of San Joaquin County American Medical Response, where he served as a paramedic for the past year.
His fire service background includes a stint with the Wilton Fire Protection District, following his completion of the Firefighter 1 Academy Intern Program, where he received his Firefighter 1 certificate.
Hill enjoys leatherworking and other creative projects in his home workshop in his free time.
McDonald comes to Ripon Consolidated Fire District via the Stanislaus County AMR, where he worked as a paramedic.
He has firefighting experience, having served as a Volunteer Captain at the Burbank Paradise Fire Protection District.
McDonald completed his fire academy training at Modesto Junior College.
He enjoys playing golf and is looking forward to successfully completing his probationary period with RCFD.
With the two new additions, the Ripon Consolidated Fire District is looking forward to their contributions to the district’s mission of "Protecting What's Important..."
