A driver is facing driving under the influence charges following a late Wednesday afternoon rollover collision on Daniels Street at Milo Candini Drive.
The incident started after 4 p.m. when Manteca Police officers were dispatched to Great Wolf Lodge regarding a hit and run collision with a parked vehicle.
The suspect was reported to have fled the scene in a purple Dodge Charger.
One minute later, Manteca Police received reports of a rollover collision at Daniels Street and Milo Candini Drive involving the same purple Dodge Charger.
The rollover occurred after the vehicle struck three trees, a water main, and a light pole as it was heading east in the westbound lanes on Daniels Street at a high rate of speed.
The driver was trapped in the vehicle when officers arrived.
The driver, who was the only occupant in the car, was extricated by Manteca Fire Department personnel.
The driver was transported to San Joaquin General Hospital due to his injuries.
Officers had probable cause to believe the driver was DUI and one officer responded to the hospital to obtain statement and possible consent for blood draw.
During the same time, another officer was working on a DUI Blood Draw Search Warrant.
The driver did not consent and a search warrant was later served.
