The Ripon Police Department announced the promotion of Sgt. Jared Heuvel.

He’s being moved up to the rank of Lieutenant.

His official appointment will take place on May 1, police announced Monday via social media.

Heuvel has been with the Ripon Police Department since 2016.

Prior to that, he started his law enforcement career just two years earlier with the Stockton Police Department.

A product of Ripon – Heuvel grew up here, attending Weston and Ripona elementary before graduating from Ripon High – he initially was assigned to the investigation unit, serving as the General Investigations Detective with Ripon police.

Heuvel was promoted to Sergeant in November 2020.

He served as a Patrol Supervisor and, among his duties, was responsible for overseeing the Explorer program, Crisis Negotiations Team, and served as the department’s Training Manager.

As a lifelong member of the community, Heuvel takes pride in serving with those in RPD while giving back to the place in which he was raised.
