The biggest ever proposed mini-storage complex in Manteca is being pursued in the fast growing southwest area of the city
The 5.64-acre project is on Atherton Drive west of Airport Way. The site abuts Bella Vista Drive.
The site it is on the curve at Atherton Drive as it straightens out along the Bypass directly across from where a former modular home sales lot has been approved to be replaced with a four-story, 117-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel.
At buildout, the mini-storage facility will consist of nine buildings with 844 storage units and and a 2,524 square-foot office building.
The 238-page environmental report is posted on the city’s website.
It is one of three mini-storage projects either approved or proposed in Manteca. The list includes:
*A mini-storage complex on the westside of Airport Way north of the railroad tracks and south of Lathrop Road.
*A mini-storage facility planned for Cottage Court south of Doctors Hospital behind Pandera Bread.
*Expansion of the ARCO min-storage on North Main Street north of Northgate Drive.
If all are built, Manteca will have 13 mini-storage facilities.
Ia addition, two boat and RV storage complex have been either approved or proposed.
*A RV and boat storage with 122 stalls is being proposed just north of Yosemite Avenue in west Manteca on 5.23 acres at 259 Swanson Road behind ABF Freight and to the northeast across the tracks from the Lathrop-Manteca ACE station.
*Approved is a 32-space RV storage facility on 13.63 acres on the northeast corner of Woodard Avenue and Atherton Drive
It will be the largest RV and boat storage complex in the South County when built.
The Atherton/Woodward project will be a full service storage facility with a 2,400-square-foot office building, vehicle cleaning station, vehicle dumping station as well as propane and air filling stations
