Harvest High has been honored as a Model Continuation School.
The Ripon Unified School District made the announcement that recognizes the alternative education site.
The California Model School Program is a collaborative effort between the California State Department of Education and the California Continuation Education Association Plus, identifying and recognizing outstanding continuation and community day schools.
Harvest High will be among the schools honored at a statewide gathering in San Diego on April 26.
Principal Kathy Diedrich announced the special recognition to her students and staff during the past week.
The school, she noted, was honored for its outstanding graduation rate, student success in their studies, volunteer work in the community, and the staff support to help them succeed.
The team that visited the school was very impressed with “the positive efforts the school has made to promote student success and has to keep parents informed of their young adult’s progress,” Diedrich noted.
Harvest High is fully accredited by the Western Association of School and Colleges-Accrediting Commission of Schools.
Besides working towards student success in the classroom, the school connects students with outside resources, including places such as Modesto Community Coleges not to mention field trips used to broaden the experiences of students.
Calla High and New Vision High in the Manteca Unified School District have also been identified as Model Continuation Schools.
