MODESTO — Graffiti USA is looking for people and companies to help build the dream to celebrate Modesto’s classic car culture.
Much has been accomplished at the museum located at 610 North 9th Street in Modesto.
The paving is in place, old demolition is complete, the ADA access is ready, the building is seismically upgraded, and the new foundations poured.
Also completed is the new sewer, fire sprinklers, power, and water.
Now it’s time for Phase 2.
The Graffiti USA Classic Car Museum is set designed to become one of Modesto’s top gathering spots.
Phase 2 will create the magic of the "1962 Modesto Experience", constructing the new round, "diner-style" glass entrance lobby, and opening the new Gift Store and the California Welcome Center.
“This will be one of the most exciting buildings in our region”, said founding board member Chris Murphy. “The Graffiti USA Museum experience will excite travelers from around the world as the roadside diners did in the 40s and 50s. We are truly the home of George Lucas and the Home of American Graffiti”.
The Reed Family of Companies have completed exterior parking lot, curbs sidewalks and vital ADA access “paving the way” to Phase 2. The concrete pad for the diner entrance was built by Burkett Companies and CT Brayton & Sons.
Many generous companies and individuals have contributed their time, labor, design, engineering, and teams to make this dream a reality.
There are sponsorship opportunities for one of the “10th Street Experience” businesses, the Drive-In theatre event center, Educational Center, or the Lobby and Welcome Center. There are donation opportunities for all levels and multi-year pledges can be made and will be featured for all visitors to see in the Hall of Fame wall of recognition.
The Phase 2 Founders Race to the Top will conclude at the end of Graffiti Summer, marking the time to set the rest of the construction plans in motion. Donor support is needed to reach the finish line. Following exterior construction, the museum will reopen with limited hours.
If you're interested in a donation, schedule an appointment or to learn more, please email info@graffitiusamuseum.com or call 209-409-8617.
