Fall festival and Halloween fun are in the works for Manteca.

Among the upcoming events to mark on your calendar:

Prestige Trunk or Treat

The annual free Trunk or Treat takes place on Friday, Oct. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Prestige Senior Living, 1130 Empire Ave just off of Louise Avenue east of Highway 99

Attendees are asked to wear a costume and bring a bag to place your goodies in.

Downtown Trunk or Treat

Downtown Manteca’s Safe Halloween event — the annual Trunk or Treat — is set for Saturday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. to noon along Maple Avenue and Yosemite Avenue.

The free event coordinated by the Manteca Recreation & Community Services Department features candy, costume contest, games, coloring contest, and mini pumpkin decorating.

 

Runnin' Like A Villain 5K Fun Run

A  family friendly Halloween 5K benefiting Tedy's Team. — Runnin’ Like a Villain — takes place Sunday, Oct. 27, from 7:30 a.m. to noon at Woodward Park. Costumes are encouraged.

 5K Registration is $35 for those 18 and older, $25 for those 5 to 17 and free for 4 and younger. Race-day registration  is $5 higher while those under 4 are still free. The race starts at 8:30 a.m.

Pre-race packet pick up will be available on Saturday, Oct. 21,  at Brethren Brewing Company in the 200 block of North Main from 4 to 7 p.m.

Halloween decorating contest

The Manteca Recreation & Community Services is also staging a citywide Halloween decorating contest for apartments, houses, and businesses.

Categories include scariest, best theme, and best overall.

Registration closes Oct. 16.
