Free Manteca residents only hazardous waste event

Looking to dispose of the electronic waste or hazardous products?

The City of Manteca – partnering with San Joaquin County – will be having a residents-only free Household Hazardous Waste Collection event on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

No businesses will be accepted.

The drop-off will be at the city facility at 210 E. Wetmore Ave.

Among the acceptable materials will include:

·         Household hazardous waste – Chemical cleaners, used oil & filters, paint, pool chemicals, fertilizers, automotive fluids, 1 gallon and 5 gallons propane tanks, etc.

·         Universal waste – Fluorescent light bulbs, batteries, mercury-containing devices.

·         Electronic waste – Computers, monitors, printers, television sets, radios, telephones, stereos, etc.

·         Miscellaneous waste – Bed mattresses.

The city warns that it is illegal to transport more than 15 gallons or 125 pounds of hazardous waste. In addition, no large appliances, tires, explosives, or radioactive will be accepted.
