Liberty Self Storage LP is looking to construct a 170,300 square foot facility at 502 E. Fourth St. in Ripon.

That’s the undeveloped lot in the industrial area next to Guntert & Zimmerman Construction.

The Liberty Self Storage facility project was approved by the Ripon Planning Commission back in August with one of the conditions – entering into a Project Improvement Agreement with the City of Ripon.

This PIA, approved by the Ripon City Council at the March 14 monthly session, will incorporate all work planned in the public right-of-way while providing the necessary improvement associated with the work, said City Administrator Kevin Werner in his staff report.

Liberty Self Storage LP, for its part, will be required to complete the following improvements within the public right-of-way:

  • Installation of the necessary asphalt paving, curb, gutter, and sidewalk along all street frontages.
  • Cape sealing of the entire street along the project frontage as approved by the City Engineer.
  • Installation of all necessary striping along East Fourth Street across from the property frontage per approval by the City Engineer.
  • Installation of two streetlights.

The self-storage facility will be on 7.82-acre property bounded by Union Pacific Railroad to just northeast of Highway 99.

Plans also call for multiple sized units along with a small 1,000-square-foot office space and associated parking for unit rentals and site supervision.

Liberty Self Storage has facilities in Turlock and Lodi.
