Final Movies in the Park features ‘Ninja Turtles’ on Saturday

The final Movies in the Park for 2024 takes place this weekend at Woodward Park.

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” is the featured film at the Movies in the Park on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The event presented by Manteca Community Services starts at 5 p.m. with food trucks, games, live music and more. The movie starts at sundown.

*MUSIC ON  MAPLE: Hispanic Heritage Month is the theme for the Thursday, Sept. 19, Music on Maple in the 100 block of Maple Avenue in downtown starting at 6 p.m.

You can enjoy Latin musical hits, a Mariachi band and Folklorico dancing.

Various Latino businesses will offer treats and eats.

*BRAVER ANGELS WORKSHOP: The Manteca Community Interfaith Community (MICA) Appeal is sponsoring a Day of Peace to Coincide with the International Day of Peace on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m.

MICA has asked "Braver Angels" to have a workshop for the community of Manteca. Braver Angels is leading the nation’s largest cross-partisan, volunteer-led movement to bridge the partisan divide for the good of our democratic republic. 

The event will be at St. Paul's Methodist church on the corner of Powers Avenue and North Street in Manteca. It includes dinner.

*SUPERVISOR CANDIDATE FORUM: The League of Women Voters of San Joaquin County will host a Candidate Forum for the Area 3 Board of Supervisor candidates — Steve DeBrum and Sonny Dhaliwal.

The forum will be held in the Fireside Room of St Paul's United Methodist Church, 910 E. North St. Manteca on Monday, Sept. 23, from 6 to 7 p.m. 

The forum is free and open to the public. 

 The League of Women Voters SJC is a nonpartisan political organization committed to voter education and information.
