The Manteca Unified School District on Monday officially swore in Area 7 Trustee Bob Wallace, Area 3 Trustee Melanie Green, and Area 1 Trustee Eric Duncan.

The trustees also conducted their annual vote for official board positions. 

Accepting a term as Board President was Stephen J. Schluer, as Board Vice President was Cathy Pope-Gotschall, and as Board Clerk was Marie Freitas. 

Schluer, Pope-Gotschall, and Freitas will also serve as Manteca Unified’s executive committee. 

 Collectively, the Board also voted for new appointments to committees and commissions for the 2025 calendar year.

They include:

*The Committee for the Evaluation and Negotiation Process for Superintendent’s Contract: Schluer, Duncan, and Pope-Gotschall.

 *The 2x2 Committees: Manteca 2X2 Committee: Freitas and Pope-Gotschall (Trustee Kathy Howe will serve as alternate); Lathrop 2X2 Committee: Howe and Wallace (Freitas will serve as alternate); and Stockton 2X2 Committee: Duncan and Schluer (Howe will serve as alternate) 

 *Parks and Recreation Commission Liaisons:  Stockton Parks & Recreation Commission: Eric Duncan, and Lathrop Parks & Recreation Commission: Howe 

 Serving as the County School Board Liaison, will be Schluer.
