Manteca Police are currently investigating a shooting that took place Wednesday evening at the Sandpiper Village Apartments that left a 24-year-old man dead.

According to Manteca Police, a domestic altercation at the apartment complex – accessible by Pennebaker Way and New Horizons Drive off of Pestana Avenue in East Manteca – was reported and apparently led to the shooting.

The incident reportedly occurred on the Pennebaker Way side of the complex.

The identity of the man who died as a result of the shooting was not released by police. No other information about the suspect was available as of press time.

It was the first Manteca homicide of 2020.
