Expect lane closures for bridge work on Highway 99, East 120

Caltrans is preparing to begin a maintenance project to repair bridge decks and improve nearby embankment slopes to improve motorist safety at three locations on Highway 99 and East Highway 120.

The $1.2 million project will make various pavement repairs including the application of polyester concrete overlays on bridge decks, and hot mix asphalt, rubberized and cold plane asphalt concrete to extend service life, reduce maintenance expenses, and improve reliability and safety for motorists. S

lope paving and rock slope protection will also be installed under the bridge structures. Work will occur at the following locations:

*Northbound and southbound Highway 99 at French Camp Road.

*Northbound and southbound Highway 99 at Mormon Slough.

*Eastbound and westbound Highway 120 at Stanislaus River Bridge near Oakdale.

The project is set to begin the week of Sept 1.

Construction activity is scheduled for 65 working days with completion expected by December.

 Work will occur Mondays through Thursdays and motorists should expect alternating lane closures on Highway and one-way traffic control on East Highway 120.

 Caltrans will have overhead and roadside signage alerting motorists of the closures.
