To better serve all members of the Manteca community, the Manteca Police Department has invested manpower to attain Certified Autism Center status through IBCSS — (the industry leader in cognitive disorder training and certification for education
This certification demonstrates the department’s commitment to better understand and serve individuals with autism and their family.
To mark the certification, the department is hoisting a celebration event.
It will take place Monday, June 24, at 1 p.m. at the Manteca Transit Center: 220 Moffat Blvd.
The event will feature a gathering of various private and government entities to showcase the extensive resources available to community members with autism needs.
This collaboration underscores the importance of support and accessibility to resources.
The Manteca Police Department is dedicated to helping autistic community members and their families when they respond to their calls for service.
“Achieving this certification is a milestone in our ongoing mission to foster a community where everyone feels safe and understood,” Manteca Police Chief Stephen Schluer said. “Our officers are better equipped than ever to serve and protect Manteca, which includes those within the autistic community.”
