The 2024 Mayor’s Art Show and Sale is coming soon.

Entry intakes for the annual event is planned for Friday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to noon, at Lathrop City Hall’s Council Chamber, 390 Towne Centre Drive.

Participants can enter their work in the following categories – oil & acrylics, watercolor, pastels & drawings, photography (traditional), photography (photo art), and sculptures & miscellaneous.

Art will be available for viewing and for sale, from April 30 through May 10.

The City of Lathrop Parks and Recreation Department along with the art show committee will once again serve as organizers for this event with the purpose of displaying works of art for the community.

The event was founded by local artist Joyce Gatto. The first-ever Mayor’s Art Show and Sale was held in 1994 to provide an opportunity for local artists to display their works.

In her honor, the Joyce Gatto Award will recognize the talent and art work within the community.

The top prize is $100 and a first-place ribbon, followed by second, third, and honorable mention also earning ribbons.

In addition, an awards ceremony for artists and invited guests will be held on Friday, May 10, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lathrop City Hall.
