East Union High Principal Eric Simoni and Vice Principal Andrew Lee congratulate valedictorian Johnie Valencia Palacios and salutatorian Damien Horat, who will lead the Class of 2025 in the coming weeks during graduation.

East Union High celebrated the accomplishments of about 430 students on Friday.

Each had at a 3.5 grade point average or higher – for the past three terms – and were invited to the Principal’s Honor Roll Luncheon held in the Dalben Center.

“It’s an honor to have you here,” said Principal Eric Simoni, praising the efforts of those who excelled in the classrooms.

The special invite included grab-and-go bagged lunches and the announcement of the top two academic seniors.

Simoni gave special recognition to Johnie Valencia Palacios and Damien Horat.

Valencia, who will be attending UC Davis in the fall to study Civil Engineering, is the valedictorian while Horat – his current plans is to attend Modesto Junior College and transferring to a four-year college to pursue engineering – was announced as salutatorian.

They’ll lead the Class of 2025 during the graduation ceremony scheduled for Friday, May 23, at Dino Cunial Field.
