Manteca Mayor Gary Singh dares you to give him your best shot.
And if you think you’re a jock and are willing to put your money where your mouth is, you can have some fun for a good cause.
Singh is challenging someone to be the first person to step up on Friday, June 23, to try and give him an impromptu bath wearing is clothes.
If they’re good, he says, they should be willing to pony up $100 for the first three balls to send him into a dunk tank as part of the Taste of Prestige BBQ.
The dunk tank is designed to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association.
And while the donations to do so will be much smaller, Singh believes there are people out there that are willing to support the Alzheimer’s Association with at least a $100 donation by being the first in line to try to get him get soaked while his clothes are still dry.
Among those serving on the council, a likely candidate should be Dave Breitenbucher.
He’s no stranger to water having swam at Manteca High and Delta College as well as having years under his belt as Sierra High’s swimming coach.
But the question is whether he’s athletic enough to get at least one hit on the release mechanism target to send the mayor into the drink.
The Taste of Prestige BBQ is Friday, June 23, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the assisted living complex at 1130 Empire Avenue just off of Louise Avenue in east Manteca. Prestige Living is hosting food and drinks for attendees.
It serves as an opportunity to meet their team and learn more about programming that they provide for guests.
There will also be live music, dancing, games and more.
