Drive-thru yogurt shop proposed on Yosemite Ave.

The first new commercial development on the edge of downtown’s core in almost a decade will turn vacant land on the northeast corner of Yosemite and Fremont avenues into a drive-thru yogurt shop and office for a long-established Manteca housing rental firm.

The yogurt shop with drive-thru lane is proposed on the corner.

The 1,350 square-foot yogurt shop will be a stand-alone building. There will also be a 1,200 square-foot shell building constructed that will be leased.  A masonry wall is proposed to separate the yogurt shop from the alley.

The project is before the Manteca Planning Commission on Thursday, March 3, at 6 p.m.

The city has already approved a 3,200 square-foot warehouse with an attached 238 square-foot office for Raymus LCC, a firm that owns and manages a number of Manteca housing rentals on a vacant parcel between the proposed yogurt shop and an existing insurance office.
The last new construction in or near the downtown area was the commercial center anchorfed by Oak Valley Community Bank at North Main Street and North Street.
