Dr. Prabhjit Purewal — a Manteca oncologist and hematologist — passed away suddenly this week while on a short trip.

“Everyone at Doctors Hospital of Manteca is stunned and deeply saddened at the loss of Dr. Purewal,” noted Doctors Hospital of Manteca CEO Brandon May of Purewal who was on the hospital staff. “Not only was he an amazing physician and highly respected by his peers, Dr. Purewal was the epitome of a true gentleman. Patients, staff and fellow physicians will strongly attest that his bedside manner was second to none.

“We will sorely miss seeing him rounding the halls of DHM, with his expertly knotted bow tie and gentle voice, spreading care and compassion to those in need.

“On behalf of all at Doctors Hospital of Manteca, I want to extend our deepest sympathies to the Purewal family.”

Patients have left notes of respect for him on Purewal’s web site with most of them crediting his practice as being excellent in nature.
