good deeds

The Ray of Hope Children’s Crisis and Resource Services-San Joaquin County will the inaugural ‘Diaper Change’ program on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

This an opportunity for businesses and community members to show their love – Feb. 14 is Valentine Day – by picking up a piggy bank in the shape of a Baby Bottle beginning on this day in an effort to collect loose change.

The money here will go towards Ray of Hope’s Babies in Crisis program.

The local nonprofit provides services to assure that children get the basic needs despite being victims of homelessness, poverty, and other crisis circumstances. The Baby Bottle fundraiser will help provide the necessities.

Ray of Hope has held various fundraisers in recent years including “Diapers & More Drive” – donation sought included diapers, wipes, baby formula, bottles, hygiene products, and gently used clothing.

Executive Director Laura Saunders has long been concerned about her referrals, in particular the health risks associated with poor hygiene for babies and toddlers.

These referrals include the Child Abuse Prevention Agency, San Joaquin County Child Protective Services, and other local and government agencies.
