Deadline Monday to apply for Ripon’s aging representative

The deadline is Monday for residents age 18 and older who are interested in serving as a representative to the San Joaquin County Commission on Aging.

The position is a three-year term and calls for this person to have demonstrated an interest in senior matters.

The representative would also provide guidance, education, and advocacy on issues related to older adults.

Applications are available at Ripon City Hall, 259 N. Wilma Ave., from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., or can be downloaded at www.cityofripon.org/commissions.

The completed application can be sent via email to jkilgore@cityofripon.org or mailed to City Hall, Attn: Jane Kilgore, 259 N. Wilma Ave., Ripon CA 95336 by the Aug. 26 deadline.

According to the City of Ripon, the Commission serves as an advisory body on aging issues to the SJC Board of Supervisors and the County Department of Aging and Community Services.

Regular meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at the San Joaquin County Office of Education-Wentworth Education Center, 2707 Transworld Dr., Stockton, beginning at 12:45 p.m. (these meetings usually last less than two hours).
