Deadline for Ripon Christmas parade is Monday
HOLIDAY

The annual Christmas Light Parade in Ripon will take place Thursday, Dec. 12.

This year’s theme is “Oh Christmas Tree.”

PG&E will serve as the grand marshal.

The Ripon Chamber of Commerce, the Ripon Police Department and the Ripon Consolidated Fire District are once again the co-sponsors of this special holiday event which will begin at 6 p.m. in the parking lot of Almond Valley Christian Reformed Church, 333 S. Wilma Ave.

“Bring your chairs, hot chocolate, and smiles and watch the light parade pass through downtown Ripon,” said the Ripon Chamber of Commerce on social media.

The Christmas Light Parade will also travel along (from Wilma Avenue) to West Main Street, and will proceed east from there to Industrial Avenue.

Parade applications are still being accepted. The deadline is Monday.

All entries must be illuminated while incorporating any of the following categories – Theme (“Oh, Christmas Tree” décor), Unique (decorated but not fitting the general parade theme), and Motorized (any non-float including decorated cars, dune buggies, farm equipment, etc.).

In addition, the parade will showcase the 10 princesses – Samantha Lackey, Mckenzie Spear, Emme Wilbur, Addyson Wilmshurst, Rhianna Villanueva, Sage Petersen, Hayden Harper, Camden Downs, Jayden Quayle, and Sophia Hernandez – vying for the title of the upcoming Almond Blossom Queen / Miss Ripon.
