Ripon Unified announced that a ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Oct. 28 for the new Career Technical Education building at Ripon High.

Ripon High’s Career Technical Education building is all but complete.

Director of Operations Andy Strickland announced that at Tuesday’s Ripon Unified school board meeting, adding that some fencing along asphalt paving as part of the final stages.

He described the work spaces as being “phenomenal,” in particular, on the main floor of the building featuring the multi-directional hoist or crane.

Much of the indoor system is fully automated, operating on a touch pad.

Another final piece to the project is passing state inspection on the elevator, Strickland noted.

Work on the CTE building began nearly two years ago to this date.

CT Brayton & Sons Construction was awarded the bid on the two-story structure that’s part of the RHS Ag Department.

Ag students, in addition, have been working outside of the new building, preparing the new planter area.

The CTE building will soon be open to accommodate classes such as ag science, ag business, diesel mechanics, software & systems, and patient care.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28.

The special event will include an open house of the new facility.
