The Cornerstone Community Theater will be doing its first play at the new location this weekend.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is a musical based on the 1971 book by Barbara Robinson on six misfit children who volunteer to star in their town’s Sunday school Christmas pageant – instead, they end up teaching people about the true meaning of holiday season.

The new performance location of Cornerstone Community Theater is 10948 S. Airport Way.

The cast consisting of 27 – adults and children combined – will perform on Friday (7 p.m.), twice Saturday (2 p.m. & 7 p.m.), and Sunday (4 p.m.).

Tickets are $15 for general seating and $20 for preferred, and can be purchased online at www.cornerstonemanteca.com/theater.

Under the direction of Emilie Reese – stage manager & choreographer is Bailey Dokoozlian-Harding with Kristin Scott serving as vocal director – The Best Christman Pageant Ever features Sam Doman (Ralph), Harlow Mangskua (Imogene), Gabe Ramirez (Leroy), Liliana Lovins (Claude), and Olivia Robinson (Gladys) as the six Herdman children, noted for their notorious rowdy behavior.

They go to Sunday school for the first time only to volunteer for lead roles in the Christmas pageant, with all expecting disastrous results.

Among the notable adults in the cast are Judi Horton (Grace Bradley) and Shim Lacy (Helen Armstrong) of Manteca Youth Focus. Ray Martinez plays Grace Bradley’s husband, Bob, while Rob Cook is in the role of Reverend Hopkins.

Other members of the production team include Becca Larsen (costume coordinator & social media manager), Matthew Larsen (technical director), and Michealle Hoag (producer & artistic director), to name a few.
