The Ripon Police Department will conduct an Area of Responsibility meeting inside the Emergency Operations Center / Training Room on Wednesday beginning at 7 p.m.

The second quarter Area 2 session will focus on the area north of Highway 99 and east on North Ripon Road.

“But we’ll also cover important safety topics for the entire city,” police said Thursday via social media.

The goal, said local police, is to improve communications between residents of Ripon and those officers patrolling the neighborhoods.

Officers can also provide safety tips that may be unique to a specific area.

“This is a great opportunity to connect with the officers serving your neighborhood, businesses, and schools,” police added.

The City of Ripon is divided into four AOR neighborhoods:

• Area 1 – North of Highway 99, west of North Ripon Road.

• Area 2 – North of Highway 99, east of North Ripon Road.

• Area 3 – South of Highway 99, west of Vera Avenue.

• Area 4 – South of Highway 99, east of Vera Avenue.
