Seeking the Area 2 seat in the Nov. 5 election are Judy Blumhorst, Gabriel Galleta, and Regina Lackey.

There is no incumbent.

The League of Women Voters forum is free and open to the public.

Serving as the moderator is former Bulletin reporter Jason Campbell.

With the switch to district elections two years ago, not only do the council hopefuls need to reside within specific areas of the city but so do the voters that elect them.

Area 2 consists of Manteca south and east of the 120 Bypass and Union Road as well as the city east of Highway 99 except for The Collective neighborhood.

There is a second council seat that expires this year, Area 1 in southwest Manteca.

Charlie Halford, who was first elected in 2020, was the only candidate to file.
