main street
A partial view of a previous Ripon Main Street Day event.

What better way to kick off Main Street Day but with a hearty breakfast.

The Ripon Consolidated Fire District can do just that with the 33rd annual Pancake Breakfast today (Saturday) from 7 to 11 a.m. at Fire Station 1, 142 S. Stockton Ave.

Breakfast includes scrambled eggs and bacon to go with the pancakes. Cost is $11 for adults, $7 for children age 7 through 11, and free for those age 6 and under.

Tickets are available at the door.

Proceeds will benefit the Ripon Volunteer Fireman’s Association.

As for Main Street Day, the 39th anniversary of the event hosted by the Ripon Chamber of Commerce is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. along historic downtown Ripon.

Featured will be the Car Show consisting of over 100 vehicles, all line up along the downtown streets, between Acacia Avenue and Industrial Avenue.

Along with a variety of vendor booths, Main Street Day is offering a lineup of performances in the area of North Walnut Avenue and Main Street.

Scheduled are the Ripon High band at 9 a.m., followed by the Pet Parade & Fashion Show (10:30), Kyla Just (12 noon), and Blessner’s Tae Kwon Do (2 p.m.).

Other Main Street Day events include:

·         Pumpkin decorating, a fall photo booth, fishing prize game, balloon animals, and other activities will take place at Calvary Reformed Church, 741 Second St., from 9 a.m. to noon.

·         The Family Fun Color hosted by the Ripon Unified Parents Club will start at 8 a.m. – run or walk – at Ripon High.
