Bikes For Kids is still a few days away.
But before that, the nonprofit organization the one-bike-per-family giveaway – the reason for that is to help as many people as possible, according to Bikes For Kids founder and organizer Pete Paulsen – is seeking helpers.
On Saturday, Dec. 3, Bikes For Kids will be having a Volunteer Workday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Paulsen Ranch, 1504 W. Bowman Rd. in French Camp.
“(This) is to help finish getting bicycles ready for our giveaway,” said Paulsen, who has scheduled the Christmas giveaway for Dec. 10 at his ranch.
Those looking to help are encouraged to “just show up,” he added.
This is the fifth year for Bike For Kids, which started with a few donated used bikes turned fix-me-uppers to about 200 or so bikes in need of sone TLC.
