The Quiring construction crew continued work Wednesday on The Terraces at Bethany Home. Included are portions of the three-story expansion building on the property at Main Street and Vera Avenue site.

The Terraces at Bethany Home in Ripon is beginning to take shape.

Construction by Quiring of Pleasanton on the three-story, 104,700 square-foot building expansion to Bethany Home, a premiere religious-based retirement community it the Central Valley, has been making progress since breaking ground in early June.

“We’ve got the walls going up at the Terraces,” said Bethany Home via social media on the recent progress.

The expansion is part of an 82-unit residential care facility on the 2.73-acre adjacent property at Main Street and Vera Avenue.

The hope is for work on The Terraces to be completed in the coming year with residents possibly moving in by 2025.

Cindy Scheublein, who is the executive director of Bethany Home, noted at the ground-breaking ceremony that this latest project will be licensed to allow residents – in particular, those who may have to transfer from an independent lifestyle to one with a degree of assistance – not be uprooted from their home at Bethany.

What’s more, according to Bethany Home website: “The new expansion will be the heart of the Bethany community, with multiple dining venues, fitness, activities, large gathering venues, and modern apartment homes allowing residents to gracefully age in place.”

Bethany Home celebrated its 60th anniversary in September.

Bethany Home was established by Ripon area churches and community leaders to offer  “a Christian home for the aged and those needing particular nursing and rest care due to infirmity or caused by illness.

Today there are more than 400 residents living  at Bethany.

It includes:

*The Manor with 55 apartments in one complex. Each unit has about 525 square feet with common areas such as an arts and crafts room, dining room, laundry, laundry facilities, fireside room, and exercise room.

*The Garden Apartments with seven buildings that contain 14 one-bedroom units and 25 two-bedroom units varying from 520 to 920 square feet.
