The audio-visual system and associated presentation control equipment in the Council Chamber has been out of commission for the past month or so.
In that time, the Ripon Unified school board and the Ripon City Council members have had to make do at their respective meetings conducted in the City Hall facility.
But that’s about to change.
No discussion was necessary as the Ripon City Council on Tuesday gave the green light to Conti LLC to furnish and install the new system in the amount not exceed $51,110 to be paid via the General Department Capital Fund (current balance of $1.2 million).
City Administrator Kevin Werner indicated in his staff report that three firms submitted proposals to do audio visual upgrades to replace the old system deemed unreliable.
Conti LLC, according to the agreement, will install and configure the new equipment consisting of a Digital Sound Processor, Conference Microphone System, Video Distribution System equipped with Zoom capabilities, and Presentation Control Systems.
Upon completion, Conti LLC’s Information Technology staff will conduct training on the use and setup of the system, allowing for city staff to troubleshoot and correct issues that may arise in the future as well as tune the system to ensure optimal performance.
