Arrests in ice cream truck armed robbery

Two suspects were arrested in connection with a recent robbery of an ice cream truck driver.

The Lathrop Police Department said via social media on Wednesday that the driver, who was selling ice cream in a residential area, was threaten at gun point shortly after 6 p.m. on Sept. 17.

The victim was flagged down by a vehicle, where two adults exited and robbed the ice cream truck driver for money, police reported.

Detectives conducted immediate follow-up and were able to identify the suspects as Arlin Itzel Zepeda-Juarez, 18, and Jayden Knight, 20.

“Early in the morning of Sept. 19, with the assistance of the Tracy Police Department, both suspects were arrested and booked into county jail for robbery and firearm-related offenses,” said local police.

As for Lathrop police, they remain dedicated to carrying out thorough and prompt investigations while working closely with law enforcement partners to ensure that anyone committing a crime will be held responsible for their actions.
