Anothny Chapman selected as new director of Manteca Unified certificated staff

Antony Chapman is the new Manteca Unified School District Director of Certificated Personnel.

“I am honored by the trust placed in me by the Board of Trustees and Senior District Leadership,” Chapman said. “As someone who grew up in MUSD, I know firsthand the positive impact our educators have on students’ lives. I am forever grateful to those who shaped my path and am eager to continue this important work.”

Chapman, a Sierra High School graduate and product of Manteca Unified schools, started his career two decades ago as a Spanish teacher.

Over the years, he has assumed diverse roles, including Activities Director, Athletic Director, High School Vice Principal, Summer Learning Institute Principal, and Elementary Principal.

He has been leading Mossdale Elementary School since 2022.

In his new role as Director of Certificated Personnel, Chapman will focus on hiring and retaining the best teachers and administrators to lead MUSD classrooms and schools.

He will also participate in the teacher negotiation process, oversee employee evaluation systems, and assist with employee recognition programs.

Chapman shares the district’s commitment to providing all students with access to grade-level standards in a safe and supportive environment, where resources are aligned to meet each student’s needs. 

“After nearly 20 years as a teacher, coach, and administrator in MUSD, I am thrilled to embark on this new adventure,: Chapman said. “My goal is to serve our community with dedication and passion.”

Chapman is the father of twin daughters, Abigail and Alexandra, and son AJ.

As he takes this next step in his career, Chapman indicated he deeply appreciative of the unwavering support from his best friend and partner, his wife, Erika.
