The front porches of homes will serve as staging areas for Saturday’s Ripon Porchfest 2024.

Ripon Porchfest 2024 is set for Saturday.

That’s the neighborhood party consisting of homeowners opening up their front porches to serve as staging areas for local bands, from noon to 5 p.m.

Among this year’s performers are a variety of young musicians from GK Music School along Suzuki Strings (string music), NTBYWRX (hip hop, rock & funk), Blue Tones (blues), The Indecisives (grunge, punk), Forever Growing Up (Classic, contemporary Christian), Less is More (Jazz), Funstrummers (ukulele), Commitment Issues (pop), T&D Jam Band (90s alternative), and acoustic singer / songwriter Tea Noelle, just to name a few.

Nearly 40 acts are scheduled for year’s Porchfest.

Some of the streets will be closed off during this time due to heavy foot traffic. Driving to those neighborhoods may cause delays.

The City of Ripon ordinance will still apply, meaning no alcohol or setting up of food trucks / tents on public streets and sidewalks.

According to Ripon Chamber of Commerce, the best way to catch these mini-concerts is via walking or riding bicycles.

This annual event is great for meeting neighbors, picnicking, and exploring their local music scene – Porchfest is a free, family-friendly afternoon full of music and camaraderie.

Bring cash – some porch hosts have organized vendors and fundraisers in their driveways.

“Don’t forget to tip the bands. This is a great way to thank them for donating their time and talents,” the Chamber added.

Porchfest is a collaboration between the Chamber, Ripon Police Department, and Greet Ripon Magazine, and is part of this year’s “Unity in Our Community,” a series of events leading up to Tuesday’s National Night Out at the Ripon Community Center.
