One of the highlights for the upcoming Almond Blossom Festival in the Fun Run.

The 43rd annual running events – 1-mile or 8K – will take place on the Saturday of the Almond Blossom Festival weekend, Feb. 22, beginning with the shorter of the two runs at 8:30 a.m.

The 8K race will follow at 9 o’clock.

The pre-registration deadline is fast approaching.

The Ripon Chamber of Commerce posted Monday, Feb. 3, for those to get the discount pricing (mail-in entries must be postmark Feb. 2 or earlier) of $20 for youth 12 and under, and $35 for adults, for both races – they’ll also receive the commemorative Almond Blossom Fun Run t-shirts.

Cost after that will be $30 for children 12 and under and $50 for adults – those missing the Feb. 3 cut-off date could still receive Fun Run t-shirts on race day (available for purchase but supplies are limited).

Race Day registration will be held from 7 to 8:15 a.m.

The Fun Run, which will be held in conjunction with the 63rd annual ABF, will start and finish at Mavis Stouffer Park, 1000 Stouffer St. The courses for both races are along flat, paved city streets and country roads surrounding the park.

Water will be served midway for runners in 8K race. Refreshments and light snacks will be served after the race.
