The deadline is approaching for local artists looking to showcase their pieces at this year’s Almond Blossom Festival.

The Ripon Community Art Show will once again be part of the 63rd annual Almond Blossom Festival scheduled Feb. 20 through 23.

The Ripon Art Guild is inviting artists to submit their entries by the Jan. 31 deadline in order to be displayed in the Ripon High Multi-Use Building from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning on Feb. 22 – art pieces may be dropped off the day before on Feb. 21.

The Almond Blossom Festival is the city’s largest tradition of the year with an entire weekend of celebrations and events.

Local high school juniors’ Samantha Lackey, Mckenzie Spear, Emme Wilbur, Addyson Wilmshurst, Rhianna Villanueva, Sage Petersen, Hayden Harper, Camden Downs, Jayden Quayle, and Sophia Hernandez will be vying for Miss Ripon / Miss Almond Blossom Festival Queen. They’ll also take part in the annual Fashion Show on Thursday, Feb. 6.

Other festivities and events include the parade, Diaper Derby, the Fun Run, the bake off, and the carnival / vendor booths in the Mistlin Sports Park.
