Albisu, Simas honored as top school support staff In San Joaquín County

Gustavo Albisu is listed as the head custodian at Mossdale Elementary School.

Chad Simas serves as the campus monitor at Sierra High.

Both employees of the Manteca Unified School District are among seven being honored by the San Joaquin County Office of Education as the top classified employees in their respective fields.

Albisu earned the recognition in Custodial & Maintenance Services while Simas received the honor in the Security Services category.

SJCOE announced Thursday the 2023 Classified Employees of the Year.

The others who were honored include:

  • Clerical & Administrative Services – Karen Ventura, Waverly Elementary School, Linden Unified.
  • Paraprofessional – Joseph Camacho, Jacobsen Elementary, Tracy Unified.
  • Skilled Trade – Peter Lilienstein, Lodi Unified.
  • Technical Services – Pamela Mendoza, SJCOE.
  • Transportation – Enna Black, Jefferson Elementary, Jefferson school district.

The announced winners will be honored at the June 8 annual SJC Classified Employees, School Counselors, and Teachers of the Year Award Celebration Dinner.

Each of the Classified Employees of the Year are also county nominees for the California Department of Education recognition program, according to SJCOE.
