44.04 % of targeted SJ County residents have received at least one dose

San Joaquin County is slightly below the statewide average for the percentage of residents that have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

As of Monday, 44.04 percent of those 16 and older or 247,084 San Joaquin County have received at least one dose. That compares to 45.3 percent of all Californians in the targeted age group. San Joaquin County now has 29.67 percent of the targeted population fully vaccinated or 166,926 residents.

It includes all Costco stores in the county including Manteca, the Ripon and Lathrop SaveMarts, CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens, Safeway, and Walmart.

Modern Urgent Care in Manteca at 1630 W. Yosemite Ave., Suite A, offers shots seven days a week 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Heath care provider networks that typically deal with established patients include Golden Valley Health Centers, Kaiser Permanente, and Sutter Health are also offering shots.

Manteca has had 109 deaths to date while 6,919 people have contracted COVID-19. Ripon has had 21 deaths and 1,363 people that have tested positive. Lathrop has had 20 deaths and 2,325 coronavirus cases.

Countywide there have been 71,987 cases out of 767,000 residents since March 2020. There are 1,104 currently positive although that does not necessarily mean they have or will become ill.

There have been 1,346 deaths countywide. Of those, all but 16.6 percent had at least one underlying condition that worked to compromise their ability to fight COVID-19. That included 40 percent that were diabetic, 31.1 percent that had cardiovascular disease, 14 percent that had chronic lung disease, 13.6 percent that were obese, and 6 percent with asthma.

Hospitals in San Joaquin County report having 42 COVID positive patients admitted for care. Adult intensive care units (ICU) are operating at 111% of licensed bed capacity with 15% or 16 of those beds being used by COVID-19 patients. San Joaquin County hospitals reported two patient deaths due to COVID in the 24 hour period ending Monday at noon.

Over the past week, the number of COVID hospitalizations has decreased by 17.6%.

Both Doctors Hospital of Manteca and Kaiser Foundation Hospital Manteca each have three COVID patients. All of the Kaiser COVID patients are in ICU while none of the Doctors patients are in the ICU.

Fifty of the 71 beds at Doctors Hospital are occupied. Although there are no COVID patients in ICU, Doctors’ ICU unit has nine patients and is at 113 percent capacity.
