Perhaps Manteca officials might want to toy with the idea of changing the name of Airport Way to the Avenue of Family Entertainment.
It’s not that far-fetched considering the following:
*The 500-room Great Wolf indoor waterpark resort.
*Six Major League replica fields at the Big League Dreams sports complex along with an indoor soccer arena.
*Boston Red Sox legend Kevin Youkilis is opening his second Loma Brewing Co. location this summer at Daniels Street and Milo Candini Drive.
*The two-story, 82,900-square-foot Ten Pin Fun Center is breaking ground this July.
*The 150-acre family entertainment zone being developed by the city with the intention of drawing sit-down restaurants, family entertainment venues, hotels, and more.
And all five are, or will be, accessible via the Airport Way exit on the 120 Bypass.
Ten Pin Fun Center owner Rod Scott shared details of his project Thursday during the State of the City program at Great Wolf.
He noted the center, expected to break ground mid-summer on Atherton Drive between Airport Way and Union Road, will be larger than a similar facility in Turlock.
It will have 26 lanes on the ground floor with a “from scratch restaurant”, a bar, and a beer garden that will have a retractable roof for warmer weather.
The second floor will have 14 lanes with five party rooms, a sky box lounge overlooking the main floor, an arcade with cutting edge virtual reality amusements, and laser tag among other offerings.
