Metro Recreation Commissioners Monday night approved an additional $21,716 in capital outlay and improvements which will be included in a revised budge to be prepared by Parks and Recreation Director E. R. “Curly” Boyd. The addition was made possible when the commission discovered the amount of money available in Metro’s reserve at the end of the fiscal year. The move by commissioners comes on the heels of an attempt by City Manager Richard Jones to have the reserve monies placed in the operation fund of Metro, thus enabling thc city to cut its contribution to Metro by nearly $6,000.
