Severe Thrill is providing the live music for the Thursday, June 20, Music on Maple event being staged by the Manteca Recreation & Community Services.
The event in the 100 block of Maple Avenue in downtown also features food trucks, vendors as well as children’s games and activities. The event starts at 6 p.m.
The music from the 2000s will range from Pop, and R&B to radio hits.
There is a prize for those that impress judges with the best nostalgic Y2K fit to “look fly” — lingo from the era for “stylish, attractive, and sophisticated.”

DJ, vendors. demos, food truck & more
The Manteca Recreation & Community Servies is conducting a Go Skateboarding Day Event on Saturday, June 22.
It takes place at the skateboard park along the Tidewater Bikeway accessed off of Center Street and Elm Street where a new 16-inch rail was recently installed.
It includes a DJ, food trucks, vendors, as well as children’s games and activities.
The free event includes:
*Professional demonstrations
*A skate jam — essentially skateboarding to music.
*A one-minute run.
*Skateboard competitions.
The competition will be for youth of all skills levels. Competition will also be broken down by age level. Prizes will be offered at the event that Manteca Professional Services is helping stage.
A detailed schedule for competition times will be available next week.
Pre-registration for those that want to compete is required.
They must do so by June 20 through the Manteca Recreation office. Helmets are mandatory.
